This is my first shredder so I can't compare it to others but I can compare it to the description from the manufacturer.
They say it can do 8 sheets at once but I find that anything over 4 sheets causes the motor to slow noticeably.
They say it can shred credit cards when placed in the special slot. I found that the motor nearly stalled while shredding the first credit card I tried.
The second card actually did cause the motor to stall after which the machin......
The shredder worked just fine for 2 months, with very light usage. All we shred is the junk mail we get. Looking at all the positive reviews, I have to believe we just got unlucky and got one of the defective machines. Maybe that's what you get for buying the cheapest crosscut shredder possible? Good luck!

This works well, but it doesn't handle 8 sheets. After four, the performance slows considerably. Since the shredder is for personal use, we find it quite satisfactory.

The paper shredder is very small and compact yet able to handle the task very well. No complaints.

The only complaint I have is that the paper has to be put in at an angle, instead of straight down. This makes smaller pieces of paper a little more difficult to shread.
